Guess Who Met Santa!
Christmas with Ma & Paw Paw
After Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa's house Tripp got to go to Ma and Paw Paw's and have another early Christmas - he is one lucky little boy!! On top of the gifts from the Grandparents this weekend Tripp also got gifts from his Great Grandmother AND - oh yeah - lets not forget - he still has Christmas morning and all the way too many gifts he will get then...he is milking his adorableness for all its worth :)
This was his second time to open a gift, he hasn't learned yet that getting to eat the paper was not the gift....

Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa
Since we are going to Burleson this year for Christmas Tripp got to have a Saturday full of opening early gifts from Grandparents. He has this unwrapping presents thing down pat....thanks for all my new toys Grandma and Grandpa!! Woah, I thought the unwrapping thing was cool, but there was something even better underneath!

Out with the old, in with the new...
Tripp will be starting a new daycare on December 21st and I couldn't be more excited! I was relatively happy with the daycare he is at now but little things really started to bother me, little by little I was become more unhappy with the place. I talked to Kent this morning and decided to check out another daycare...boy am I glad I did...we didn't know what we were missing! He will be going to Kids R Kids now, here are a few highlights of things they have to offer that Tripp's current daycare did not:
1. Big rooms with lots of natural light
2. At least one certified teacher in each room
3. Music playing in the room all day everyday
4. A "music man" (guy with a guitar) that comes once every two weeks
5. A stroller that sits 6 children, they take them for a walk (6 at a time obviously) when the weather is nice
6. They read books to the kids everyday (simply I know, but our current daycare was not!)
7. Cameras that Kent and I can view on the Internet at anytime
8. A playground that is right outside Tripp's room, when the big kids aren't out there and it is nice they take them out to get fresh air
9. A full time chef
I couldn't love this place more...the only reason I didn't go get Tripp this morning and take him there was because we paid up front through next week at his current daycare...so he will be staying until then :)

Moody Gardens
This weekend we went to Moody Garden's Festival of Lights, it lived up to the hype, we had a great time. There was a mile long trail of Christmas lights, add that on top of the fact that we were outside and it made for a perfect evening for Tripp. We definitely want to go again next year, the only thing we would do differently is stay at a hotel down there instead of driving home. We also put up our Christmas decorations this Saturday. It worked out perfectly, Tripp fell asleep and didn't wake up till we were done :).
We headed downtown to meet up with Aunt Bethany, Uncle Dave and Violet around 4pm, we wanted to get down to Galveston early so we could have dinner and exchange Christmas presents. Violet was racing to and from the front door when we got to their house and Tripp thought it was hilarious! Ever time she came back from the door she gave Tripp a hug, it was too cute!
At dinner Violet and Tripp got to open their Christmas gifts, here is Violet hugging her charm bracelet, I think that means she likes it :)
These presents from Aunt Bethany and Uncle Dave were his first Christmas gifts to ever unwrap, in fact they were his first gifts to ever actually unwrap. (He has received a few other Christmas gifts already but none were wrapped)

The Gould's, I think Violet was a little distracted by the lights in this one.
Auntie B tickling Tripp :)

Breathing Treatments
Poor little baby boy went to the doctor yesterday for his nasty cough and we found out he has to be on breathing treatments :(. They are no fun but seem to be working wonders for him. He goes back on Friday for a check up, I am guessing he will be good as new by then :). We also found out our chunky monkey is a little less chunky now a days, he weighed 19 pounds which is only the 80th percentile, down from his previous 100th percentile.

From One Generation to the Next
Jaw Bone Ranch
We took a "Tripp" (couldn't resist) to Florence, right outside of Austin, to meet the Warren family. When we got there Aunt Brenda, Uncle Scott, Tyler and Tanner took us around the land to see all the cows, and then back to their house to see the goats...although they were not fainting goats they were still pretty cool, and the babies were super cute...Tripp pretty much just stared in amazement.
Big thanks to Grandma Judy and Aunt Susan for letting us take over half your house and use your trash for stinking diapers :). It was so great to see everyone, if they'll have us back we would love to visit again!!

Happy First Thanksgiving
On Thanksgiving last year we told all our family we were expecting and now a year later we got to enjoy turkey day at our house with all our family and Tripp, it was awesome. I guess technically that means it is his second Thanksgiving, and last year he actually got to enjoy the food, this year we just pretended the bananas were turkey
And in honor of his first Thanksgiving, I felt it necessary to have this photo :)
Grandparents
Kent pulling the turkey out of the oven at 8:55am, guess we should have gone with the 4.5 hours the directions said instead of the ole 20 minute per pound rule...oops...although it was the best turkey we have ever made! Violet licking the chocolate off the cake because Aunt Jackie is the best :)Tuesday, November 24, 2009
Happy 5 Month Birthday Monkey!
I can't believe you are already 5 months old, time is flying by way too fast! You got an awesome birthday present today, you are getting a new BFF, Aunt Dana and Uncle Todd found out they are having a little boy in April, woohoo!!!! Last night you got to go for a ride in your wagon, you love love love your wagon, and today dada put the canopy on your wagon so you can go for rides when it is bright and sunny out.
Other new developments this month, you now sit in your highchair and play while mama and dada cook dinner, we like this new development...and you are getting too big for your swing, (the picture is blurry b/c the swing was moving and the lights were out b/c he was sleeping) your feet hang off the end, you still seem to like sitting in it though...although now that i think about it I need to check the weight limit on that thing...

Ri-dic-u-lous...
This picture cracks me up, I absolutely L-O-V-E LOVE it! Tripp, this is your silly cousin Drew Bug who thought that rain boots meant you couldn't get dirty when stomping and jumping in mud, needless to say, he was wrong. Aunt Lindsay made him take off his muddy clothes when he got home but the rain boots stayed :)
