We went to Sho Gun last night for Tripp's birthday dinner with Aunt B, Uncle D, V and Little D. Thankful they brought their camera, as I did not on purpose because of my lovely pink eye that makes me look like I was punched in the face. But I had my sunglasses on hand so we did get one family picture on Tripp's birthday :). Tripp loved it when they put the hat on him and sang, it was really cute, he was smiling the whole time. Then he decided to clap at everything the rest of the night, as you can see in the below photos.

Day Two...
...operation get rid of paci...sucessfull!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!! Last night he went to bed without his paci just as easily as the night before but he woke up in the middle of the night and it took a lot of will power to not just give in and give him his paci. I picked him and up and rocked him, while he was crying, for about 20 minutes and never gave in...and sure enough...back to sleep he went! So my conclusion about his paci addiction being partly our fault is confirmed, oops!

Our Baby is Not Such a Baby Anymore
Our two day shy of being a one year old has made the transition from baby to one year old successfully!!! He:
1. Drinks 2% milk, not formula
2. Uses a sippy cup, instead of a bottle
3. Sleeps in his crib
4. Takes one nap a day, most days
5. Is in process of losing the paci
6. Says, "mama, dada, dog, hi, duck" and a couple other random things
7. Is learning how to walk, any day now we will have a walker
8. Faces forward in his car seat
We are so proud of our little man!!

Night One...
...operation get rid of paci...successful!!!! Since Tripp is now one, well almost, we have decided it is time to get rid of the paci, the only problem is he really likes it, especially at bed time. Last night I picked him up to put him to bed, for the first time with no paci, and he was pretty fussy about it. Then I went in his room and turned some music on and he was happy and went to bed within 5 minutes. As much as I hate to admit it, I am pretty sure we relied on the paci as much as Tripp did. Usually before bed we would just automatically pick him up and give him his paci, oops.

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!!!
Holy hell, we blinked and our baby turned one! We celebrated Tripp's first birthday, and his cousin Violet's third birthday, this weekend with a pirate themed bash at the house. The pirate ship watermelon is courtesy of Pawpaw, he did a wonderful job!!! We got Tripp a blow up pirate boat for the backyard, which he absolutely loves, except when people are around! He wanted nothing to do with it on his birthday, but when we let him swim in it before he loved it. All and all it was a great party and Tripp had a blast...he stayed up until ten playing with all his new toys! Tripp and his cousins Ty and Drew hunting for treasure...that is Ty dressed like a pirate :)
Birthday girl and her new scooterArrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhTripp definitely enjoyed his party but I am pretty sure he would have been just as happy if we had just filled the house with balloons and called it a day! Who knew he would love balloons so much!He also thinks cake is pretty awesome!!!! It was hilarious watching him dig in, he couldn't get it in his mouth fast enough, evening using both hands!

BIG BOY
I took Tripp to the doctor yesterday for a runny nose, we wanted to make sure he was healthy for his birthday party this weekend. We went to a new doctor because his regular doctor was full. The new office is Windrose Family Medical right next to Tripp's daycare. It was very nice, no one was there and it was close to home, all pluses! Since it was a new doctor they wanted to get Tripp's stats, he is still a big boy - in case you couldn't tell :)
At 11 months:
your child is 24.5 pounds, and that is at the 94th percentile for weight.
your child is 31.75 inches, and that is at greater than the 97th percentile for height.

NO NO Joshua!
Tripp was bit today at daycare, his boo-boo report stated, "Tripp and his friend were in their cribs beside each other and he was bitten. We put ice on it and gave him a little TLC."
San Antonio
Get ready for picture overload, I love all the pictures from this weekend, I couldn't decided which ones to post so I posted a bunch.
This past weekend we took our first ever family vacation and Tripp's very first vacation, we had a blast. We went to San Antonio with BVD2 and Lindsay, BJ and their boys met us on Saturday.
Saturday we all went to SeaWorld, it was so fun! I say we went for the kids but I am pretty sure all the adults had a good time as well. Tripp was laughing the entire day, except for when we watched Shamu, he looked like this.... the whole show. It was hilarious, he couldn't turn his head fast enough to see everything, he had his eyes and mouth wide open with a "what tha?!?!?" look on this face.
Here is a miracle shot of all three boys smiling, and later you will see one of Tripp and Violet both smiling...it was a good weekend for photos!

Splish splash...
Here is Tripp and dada outside the kid's water play area about 2 o'clock, Tripp was worn out!!!
Friday, yeah, I know...the pictures are out of order...we went to Fiesta Texas where Tripp rode his first roller coaster with Kent, he was laughing the whole time.
First roller coaster, "Fruit Salad"
Tripp enjoyed being in the hotel room, especially looking out the window...
...and getting to swim at night...
Friday night during nap time for the kiddos Bethany and I went to the El Mercado to buy authentic tourist shirts, they were so cute and I love the way they all looked together.

My First Real Hair Cut!
So I knew Tripp's hair was getting a little out of control but I was way too nervous to do anything about it...yesterday Kent convinced me to let him use the clippers and give Tripp a hair cut. I am glad he did, it looks so cute!! He looks like such a little boy now...and even more like Kent than before! I absolutely love it :)
He was checking himself out in the mirror while Kent cut :)

Lunch with Grandma and Great Grandma
Ma and Paw Paw's Pool
PJs Softball Park
Kent played in a Memorial Day softball tournament this weekend at Pjs, which is conveniently located right across from our neighborhood. Tripp and I went to watch him play his first game, Kent then stayed and played till 6am when Tripp and I were waking up! Tripp loves to go out there and watch dada play but sadly we don't get to go too often since it is 1,000 degrees outside. I had to dunk Tripp's head under water three times while we were out there Friday night to cool him down!
